… I hope I wiiiin. Mr. Bean anybody?? :) Everytime I hear the word ‘Race’, I think of that quote from Rat Race. Good times :)
So I am not a fan of running and I’m not a fan of waking up earlier than 9. I’m soooo not a morning person…. night owl ALL the way!! :) So why did I wake up at the crack o’ dawn on a Saturday for a race you ask? For a good cause for a friend of course! Nothing else would get me outta bed! ;)
They can’t have any more kids so they’re trying to adopt from Africa and have been holding races to raise money. You can find out more HERE. My good friend Sara (in pic below) introduced us to them last year and we all became instant friends. They are amazing people. (Didn’t get a pic of them, Darn it! Got their little boy though!)
Sara and I ran for about 100 feet then speed walked the rest of the race. Ha! That’s my kinda race! I will speed walk, I will bike, I will rock climb, I will rollerblade, I will do just about anything but run. I wasn’t doing the race to win anyways, we knew we were going to be last :) But we were wrong… TIM was last! haha He forgot his glasses, making it hard for him to see the signs, making it hard to know where to go…so he ended up running a couple extra miles outta the way. Poor guy, he was beat when he got back :) He did win a gift card still, nice work Handsome hubby of mine!!
Another cool thing is that they did a small race for the little ones while we were gone. Faith and all her boyfriends (what a ladies man!) ran and all got some cute medal necklaces…. to which Faith exclaimed, “My mommy’s gonna LOVE this!” when she got it. Indeed I did love it. Too cute!
It was such a fun time that we plan to attend and support them in the next 2 races! If you would like to support a good cause too, have a good time and do something healthy for yourself…. all while looking as stylish as us at 7AM (Ha Ha), then go to THIS blog and sign up!! I’m not a lyin’ when I say it’s fun. And that’s coming from a non runner :D

good for you Laura — and that is too funny about Tim ;) I mentioned it to Trent and we'll run the one in September — that will give me time to work on running 3 miles again lol :)
