We have some of the most Awesome neighbors. Ever. We’ve always been so lucky. Some of them have moved (and I really miss them, you know who you are! :) but we keep getting amazing people! We’re all pretty good friends and do stuff together whenever we can.
This past weekend was full of all sorts of fun with our neighbors. Everything from roasting marshmallows to surprise birthday party to rock climbing! It was nonstop fun.
We went up to Big Cottonwood Canyon with one of our friend’s to do some REAL rock climbing. This was my first time doing the real thing. I’ve done all sorts of climbing and hiking throughout my life but nothing like this where I have to repel down. I made it up half way which, for me, was pretty good for first time. If I hadn’t looked down I would’ve gone up further. It looks much higher from the top than from the ground. Faith tried it for a bit but found more pleasure with picking all the bugs off the rock. haha
The guy in the middle has his own business making and selling these prosthetic legs for amputees. So they are able to enjoy all sorts of sports like skiing and rock climbing, etc.. that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. It’s incredible. The bottom of the foot has a great grip and can get into the nooks and cranny of the rock a lot better than shoes! Pretty inspiring to me. His equally amazing wife made it all the way to the top, she totally rocks and made me wanna keep going next time.
Meanwhile, Spencer was being rocked to sleep in his carrier… in which Tim creatively hung it from a tree with some gnarly strong knots. I was hesitant at first, but it worked like a charm!
The rest of the kids kept busy with all the rocks, dirt, sticks and bugs around. What more could a kid want! :)
SUPER cute picture! If they do end up marrying each other, like he tells me every time he sees me :), this is SO going on their wedding video! Cute kids.
After a restful nap in the tree, Spencer dude was bright eyed and bushy-tailed… and ready to eat, as you can tell from the peach chunks on his shirt. hah mmmm
When we were done we all headed straight to a surprise party for another neighbor! He was so surprised he had a heart attack ;) haha I love these guys, they crack me up!
Such an awesome weekend with awesome people!
