You can’t fully appreciate the title of this post unless you’ve played the game “Sam and Max”. And you probably haven’t played it unless you’re a nerd like Tim and I! haha It’s ok, nerds know how to have all the fun anyway ;)
Last week was my birthday and we partied all weekend long! Birthdays don’t have the same feel like when I was younger, I get more excited about OTHER people’s birthdays now. Thank goodness for awesome friends and family to make my birthday fun still!
It started off when one of my very best friends in the W.W.W. (am I juvenile for still saying that? ;)) came back to visit!! She was on Leave and I was so stoked to see her after 6 months!! A couple of hours wasn’t nearly long enough but it was totally better than nothing! 14 years of friendship, we can have the same amount of fun in 3 hours as we can in 3 months! We’re that awesome! ;)
On my actual birthday my handsome hubby surprised me with a few thoughtful gifts before he left for work and had a whole night of fun planned! The best thing he did for me was working out a way to stay home from a 2 week business trip so he wouldn’t miss MY birthday! How sweet is that?! My birthday definitely would NOT have been 5 stars without him.
I spent the day with my parents and went out to Kneaders (for second time after Krista, love that place :) and then Olive Garden for dinner. Tim had some fun things lined up, but being the oldie I am now (Ha Ha) I just felt like doing something simple, so we went out to eat with my parents! Let me just tell you.. if you’ve never had the privilege of tasting their Black Tie Mousse Cake…. you haven’t lived until you’ve tried it. It’s been my favorite for many, many years and I can’t get enough.
The day after I got to spend several hours with another one of my very best friends…. yes, in the W.W.W. :) It was so relaxing to just sit and talk at the park, reminiscing our 16 years of friendship…. seriously we’ve been through a LOT together!
and THEN, Saturday my Amazing friend Derin totally surprised me by planning a secret lunch at Gardener Village, one of my long-time favorite places! She was afraid that I would find out and not be surprised but I was for sure! I was so confused when I saw all these familiar faces… took a few minutes to register what was going on. haha it was SO sweet of all of them to take the time to come celebrate with me!! My sweet hubby watched Faith and Spence for a few hours while I partayed!
I definitely got spoiled and had so much fun!
